A Lull In The Sea Episode 16.

I was surprised by how bored I was with the character interactions. I usually enjoy them. (Spoilers)

Not much progress is made story wise in this episode. I didn’t find the character interactions as funny as previous episodes. Scenes were dragged out for too long and characters kept repeating the same actions. I mean how many times do we need to see Hikari make a joke about Miuna’s boots sounding like a pig? How many times do we need to see Miuna get embarassed and exaggerate her movements? Apparently as many times as possible.

Now I’m not the type of person who needs action to stay interested but this show could have at least created a conflict that last 2 or 3 episodes. Miuna and Sayu fighting doesn’t tell me anything other than the obvious. Sayu is unhappy because Kaname hasn’t woken up and takes it out on Miuna. I was bored to tears in that scene, that conflict only existed to fill run time. Ugh.

So, I’m hoping that the Miuna has Ena plot goes somewhere. It could add some much needed mystery to this anime. I’m actually surprised to the existence of Ena hasn’t been explored yet. I know that this is a Slice of Life anime but the idea that people have been living underwater for so many years should be something the writers have explored already. Who knows, maybe it will be at some point.

You know what? Forget everything I said above, none of that silly stuff matters because best boy Kaname is back!

I love how he casually walks up to a guy naked and asks what the date is. Like it’s the most normal thing ever, i’m suprised the guy wasn’t even fazed. I would be.

Next episode better be a Kaname focused one.
